Over 19,000 IDPs in Mangalla in dire needs of protection and shelters-Activist

More than 19,000 Internally Displaced Persons fled from Jongolei State following the flood that affected their homes were in dire needs of shelters and protection according to the Activists in Bor .
Speaking to Juba Monitor in a telephone interview from Bor yesterday, Executive Director for Intrepid South Sudan,Bol Deng Bol said that there was slow registration in the IDP by some of the None governmental Organizations that could allowed majority of the population in the camp without shelter and food .
He said the life of IDPs is also in danger because they were not being protected by the national forces and mission forces .
“People in the internally displaced persons protected by the mission or the government because few days ago a vehicle from Juba to Mangalla was ambushed and six people were injured one lady was taken by the armed men and this put the life of the IDPs in danger,” said Bol.
The organizations doing the registrations of the IDPs were very few and the registration is going very slow .they should be quick enough in order to provide shelter and food for them,”he added
Last month of September,23rd the Ministry of Humanitarian Affair and Disasters Management has declared Mangalla has the Internally Displaced Person after the flood has affected thousands of people in Jongolei State.
In his part Executive Director for Faith Based Initiative , Nathasio Garang told Juba Monitor that the situation in the camp is worsening because of the insecurity threat around the camp following the abduction of a child who was later found killed by the abductees in the area.
“I was in the area some few day ago and the population of internally displaced persons is hugged .No more people in Jongolei I urged the government to respond quickly forces should be deploy in order to protect the civilians ,”said Garang.
Now some politicians started raising the issue of land some conflict is now coming in . we need the government to intervene so that the IDPs are protected,”he added .
